5 THINGS TO SAY (AND NOT SAY) TO GET YOUR CONTENT SEEN

Did you know there are words you use in your social media posts that actually REDUCE the visibility of your stuff?!

Using words and phrases like BUY NOW! CONTEST! FREEBIE! mean that your awesome promotion, product, or service won’t be seen by the people who need you, which is a huge disservice to your audience!

Here are 5 things to say in place of the no-no’s

  1. Instead of directly LIKE, SHARE, LIKE THIS, COMMENT, TAG A FRIEND – ask a question inviting an answer to contribution to the conversation. Share a story about ice cream then ask, “What’s your favorite ice cream flavor?”
  2. Don’t say FREE, GIVEAWAY, WIN, ENTER – share a story about a special opportunity and drive traffic to your landing page, website, or to join your email list.
  3. YES – gift idea, score, snag, win; NO – discount, coupon, sale, markdown
  4. Stay away from using (with or without a hashtag) ad, sponsored, affiliate. Instead, try “brought to you by,” “made possible by,” “thanks to a collaboration with”
  5. RELIGION & HEALTH – using buzz words in post headlines is a big no-no. Don’t say weight loss, say healthy body. Don’t say religious, say belief or faith.
