THERE WAS NO MAGIC SWITCH…
When I moved to Raleigh 5 years ago, I put my camera away.
I don’t want to say I threw my camera… but there was definitely some dramatic huffing and shouting involved.
I was done.
I was supposed to be enjoying this entrepreneurial freedom everyone was talking about. But I wasn’t.
I was burned out, I was making all the mistakes.
I kept thinking that if I just took one more online course or joined one more mastermind, that some magical switch would flip.
Spoiler alert… THERE WAS NO MAGIC SWITCH.
When I threw… *ahem… placed* my camera down, I didn’t pick it up again for 6 months.
By that time, I had a 9-month old and an almost 5-year-old.
That’s when I realized… I didn’t want to be a family photographer any more. And I finally allowed myself to begin exploring what I was really passionate about… Marketing.
So I tweaked my offerings and started calling myself a Personal Brand Photographer.
Which was great.
That is… until I realized I was taking all these GREAT pictures but none of my clients were using them.
Let me reiterate.
My clients were spending MONEY on these photos and then they WEREN’T USING THEM.
So I started helping them use the images to build their brands and help them make money.
And you know what? My clients started to see amazing results!
